Events


The BBO Cross Country Championships comprise the following events:

U13 Girls Championship

Competing for The Bracknell 50 Shield
Distance (approx.): 3.5km
Teams of 6 to run, 3 to score. 12 names may be entered. All entrants to be 11 or 12 years of age on 1st September preceding the Championships. (Athletes under the age of 11 must not be entered.)
Medals to be awarded to the scoring 3 of the first 3 teams (subject to 8 teams entering) and to the first 3 runners to finish.

U13 Boys Championship

Competing for The H. D. Hawkins Shield
Distance (approx.): 3.5km
Teams of 6 to run, 3 to score. 12 names may be entered. All entrants to be 11 or 12 years of age on 1st September preceding the Championships. (Athletes under the age of 11 must not be entered.)
Medals to be awarded to the scoring 3 of the first 3 teams (subject to 8 teams entering) and to the first 3 runners to finish.

U15 Girls Championship

Competing for The Chairman’s Shield
Distance (approx.): 4.0km
Teams of 6 to run, 3 to score. 12 names may be entered. All entrants to be 13 or 14 years of age on 1st September preceding the Championships.
Medals to be awarded to the scoring 3 of the first 3 teams (subject to 8 teams entering) and to the first 3 runners to finish.

U15 Boys Championship

Competing for The Den Deane Shield
Distance (approx.): 4.0km
Teams of 6 to run, 3 to score. 12 names may be entered. All entrants to be 13 or 14 years of age on 1st September preceding the Championships.
Medals to be awarded to the scoring 3 of the first 3 teams (subject to 8 teams entering) and to the first 3 runners to finish.

U17 Women Championship

Competing for The Ward Shield
Distance (approx.): 6.0km
Teams of 6 to run, 3 to score. 12 names may be entered. All entrants to be 15 or 16 years of age on 1st September preceding the Championships.
Medals to be awarded to the scoring 3 of the first 3 teams (subject to 8 teams entering) and to the first 3 runners to finish.

U17 Men Championship

Competing for The Desborough Challenge Cup
Distance (approx.): 6.0km
Teams of 6 to run, 3 to score. 12 names may be entered. All entrants to be 15 or 16 years of age on 1st September preceding the Championships.
Medals to be awarded to the scoring 3 of the first 3 teams (subject to 8 teams entering) and to the first 3 runners to finish.

Senior Women Championship

Competing for The President’s Shield
Distance (approx.): 6.0km
Teams of 8 to run, 3 to score. 12 names may be entered. All entrants to be 17 years of age or over on 1st September preceding the race.
Medals to be awarded to:

  • The scoring 3 of the first 3 teams (subject to 8 teams entering).
  • The first 3 individuals.
  • The first 3 juniors (Athletes to be 17, 18 or 19 years of age on 1st September preceding the race).
  • The first 3 veterans (Athletes to be 35 years of age or over on the day of the Championships).

Veteran Women Championship

Competing for The Arthur Kilbery Shield
Distance (approx.): 6.0km
To be run within the Senior race. All entrants to be 35 years of age or over on the day of the Championships to be eligible to score.
3 to score. Medals to be awarded to the first 3 teams.

Senior Men Championship

Competing for The Howard Palmer Shield
Distance (approx.): 9.5km
Teams of 12 to run, 6 to score. 18 names may be entered. All entrants to be 17 years of age or over on 1st September preceding the race.
Medals to be awarded to:

  • The scoring 6 of the first 3 teams (subject to 8 teams entering).
  • The first 3 individuals.
  • The first 3 juniors (Athletes to be 17, 18 or 19 years of age on 1st September preceding the race).
  • The first 3 veterans (Athletes to be 35 years of age or over on the day of the Championships).

Veteran Men Championship

Competing for The Reg Green Shield
Distance (approx.): 9.5km
To be run within the Senior race. All entrants to be 35 years of age or over on the day of the Championships to be eligible to score.
3 to score. Medals to be awarded to the first 3 teams.
